Wherever I have lived, I’ve always missed out on the Sonic Drive-In experience. When I lived in Long Beach, the closest Sonic was in Anaheim. When I lived in the Coachella Valley, the closest Sonic was in El Centro. (Shortly after I left the valley, Sonic opened a location in Cathedral City.)

Saturday, my adopted hometown, Long Beach CA, opened separated bikeways on downtown one-way east-west thoroughfares. Third Street and Broadway added what are called cycle tracks, physically separated bike lanes from vehicular traffic. Long Beach’s bike lanes include separate traffic signals for bikes and cars to help each traffic pattern flow smoothly.
